Too Good to Be True?
The Story Behind CASAS VISTA DEL VALLE - Sayulita

The two principals in this small development both asked the premier architect/builder in Sayulita, Felipe Villagomez, to build their personal houses.  Needless to say, we’ve been more than pleased.

As you probably know if you are reading this, Sayulita is 95% perfect; a Mexican paradise of beach/surfing fun, eating and social enjoyment – but it’s been discovered.  With prices of nice homes skyrocketing to the half million and above range, and with the government pouring money into nearby developments with five-star hotels, golf courses and related infrastructure, we saw a need for reasonably priced quality homes.

How to do this?  It would only be possible if one could build several houses at once, to get an economy of scale. But it would also be important to find land that was easy walking distance to the beach and to offer a quality product.

The five houses in the VISTA DEL VALLE project are just steps from the corner of Calle Libertad and the Punta de Mita road.  Go one full block down Libertad to Revolucion, then one block to Rollie’s, then one block to the plaza.  This means that you, and your family, friends, renters can all enjoy Sayulita without a car.  And of course, anyone can walk to the bus stop for an easy ride to the airport or P.V.

Once the land was found, we decided that we would not undertake a development project if Felipe Villagomez was not involved.  His participation assures the houses will be built with quality of design and construction.  We did not want to put up cheap houses that we could not be proud of and we didn’t want our houses to have problems in a year or two.  Because he did our personal houses, we knew we would get the best.

We also wanted to build and offer affordable houses with features that we enjoy – to have the outside be fused with the inside, to allow for parking, washer/dryer and room for guests.  These houses each have two-bedrooms, two-bathrooms, living room, inside dining and bar, large outdoor patio dining terrace under a trellis, full kitchen, hook up for washer/dryer and a trellis covered carport.  Then we wanted to enjoy some Mexican interior touches - high ceilings, lots of windows, tile floors, tiled kitchen counter –and outside, we wanted everyone to enjoy the outdoors; we eliminated one house and turned the space into a common swimming pool (with spa)!

The five houses are up a cobblestone private street, away from the road, and each has a trellis-covered carport with additional parking for guests.  Best of all, all five homes enjoy a wonderful view of the distant valley and jungle.

We then decided not to be greedy with prices.   We quickly sold three of the five houses.  There are two homes left- the last one-story house (middle house, valley side) and the two-story house on the left as you enter.

So that’s the story.  There is a lot more to tell you, as well as to show you the actual houses. You can contact Eric or any realtor in town.  Realtors are marketing these houses at $239,995 fully loaded, which includes their commission, plus common ownership of the large swimming pool and outdoor area and includes formerly optional features like tiled roofs, trellis over the carport and dining terrace, set up for air-conditioning, etc.   Frankly, if you can find a better deal in Sayulita, then jump on it.

To make you feel comfortable about purchasing in Mexico, we have set up a system so you can be assured that all the “i”s are dotted.  We are using a local attorney, Daniel Amador, to make sure the paperwork is done correctly.  Please call so we can tell you more about this project—the houses are built and ready to move in.

Please contact Eric Rudd for details.  Even if I’m back in the U.S., you can call or email and I can arrange for you to meet Felipe, see the site and other houses he has built. If I’m still in Sayulita, then it’s a snap.  Below are my contact numbers/email.
